Once again Our Lady of Fatima is pleased to be participating in the Annual Terry Fox Walk/Run on Thursday, October 3, 2024. The rain date for this event is on Friday, October 4, 2024.
We are very proud to be associated with the Terry Fox Foundation. All monies raised through our participation will be forwarded to The Terry Fox Foundation to further the cause of cancer research. If you would like to make a donation by cash or personal cheque, please have your child hand it in to your child’s classroom teacher in a clearly marked envelope. Donations of $20 or more are eligible for a tax receipt from the Terry Fox Foundation. (Full name and address to be included if paying by cheque or cash). Cheques must be made payable to The Terry Fox Foundation.
The Primary walk will take place in our schoolyard between 11:15-11:45 am on October 3. Teachers and staff will be on hand to supervise and assist students. Junior and Intermediate classes will complete a 2 Km walk off school property around the school neighbourhood. Students are encouraged to wear appropriate footwear and bring a water bottle. Also, students are encouraged to wear RED and WHITE in honour of Terry Fox being an inspirational Canadian. They may also wear a Terry Fox t-shirt.
Since 2005, Our Lady of Fatima CES has raised close to $72 000 for the Terry Fox Foundation. We are so very grateful to all our generous families. Our school goal this year is to raise $3500. We are confident that we can realize this goal with the full participation of the entire school community. We hope to count on your support!
